General Information

The Computer Engineering department is a four-year undergraduate program offered in English within the Faculty of Engineering.
The Bachelor’s Degree Program at the Department of Computer Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits, 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals to 25.5 hours of student workload per semester.

Program Director’s Message

The development of the Internet and online technologies are the results of studies in computer engineering. Computer engineers are the architects of the technologies used today and that will emerge and will be used in the future. As a computer engineer, you can participate in the development of emerging technologies and have career opportunities in any industry that needs technology developers for e-commerce, database management, network management, software development. Such industries range from banks, government agencies, trading firms and manufacturing firms to marketing organizations. You can also take a higher education in engineering and choose to continue your career as an academician by completing your doctorate education.

Program Introduction

The department offers a balanced undergraduate program which covers computer software, computer hardware, and computer networks with a strong background on mathematics as well as departmental technical/non-departmental non-technical elective courses.

Purpose and Objectives

Department of Computer Engineering aims at educating technically competent and socially conscious engineers who will design and implement information and computing systems mandated by the ever growing and diversified automation needs of the contemporary societies.
Aims:
1. It is aimed to educate students with the awareness of real-world engineering tasks and problems as well with the gained ability to be able to tackle with real-world cases.
2. It is aimed via the graduation projects on real-world cases and summer training for the students to gain insight to the latest technological developments to be able to use the technology for solving real-world problems.

Objectives:
1. Educating technically competent and socially conscious engineers who will design and implement information and computing systems mandated by the ever growing and diversified automation needs of the contemporary societies
2. Self-aware graduates that learned how to access information and achieve their goals through their careers

Program Qualification Type

The program meets the requirements by both the ECTS credits and level descriptors of the first cycle degree qualifications of the Overarching Framework of European Qualifications Framework HE(QF-EHEA) and the 6th level qualifications of the Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE (TYYÇ, NQF-HETR). The level descriptors also meet the 6th level requirements of the qualifications of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) .
Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded with the qualification of Bachelor’s Degree Diploma.

Course Structure

The course structure of the Dentistry Program is based on the integrated implementation of theoretical courses, preclinical laboratory applications, simulation studies, and clinical applications. During the education process, basic sciences, professional field courses, and clinical applications are presented in a step-by-step structure. While the first years focus on imparting theoretical knowledge and preclinical skills, the later years emphasize patient-centered clinical practice. Courses are conducted using lectures, practical sessions, case-based learning, and assessment methods, with measurement and evaluation processes designed to cover both theoretical and practical success.

The Qualification of Graduation Programs which requires;
Completion of all the courses designated within the curriculum of the programme, having a total of 240 ECTS Credits, with passing grades, and
Achievement of a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Admission Requirements

Cyprus Aydin University accepts Turkish students who have graduated from high school and equivalent schools through the central entrance examination conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM).
International students who graduate from high school and equivalent schools have the right to apply directly to KAU if they meet the admission criteria. The criteria for admission are that exams with international recognition (eg., SAT, GCE, IB) or covers the scores of some countries’ university entrance exams.

Admission, Recognition, and Transfers

Students from Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus can register with a letter of purpose and prospective students from third countries can register in accordance with the admission regulations issued by the TRNC Ministry of Education. The relevant provisions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus legislation are applied for the candidates who are not included in this scope. In case of transfer or double major and minor applications from other higher education institutions to our university, registration is done in accordance with the regulations approved by the University Senate. For admission to master’s and doctorate programs, the admission requirements in the “Cyprus Science University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations”are valid.
Students apply to the boards of Directors of academic units for credit and credit after they have registered for the recognition of the courses they have taken from other higher education institutions in the country or abroad where they have previously studied.

TEKNOFEST, the World’s Largest Technology and Aviation Festival, to be Held for the First Time in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This year, TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest technology and aviation festival, will be held for the first time in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Known for its international competitions in fields such as aviation, space technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence, and sustainable energy, TEKNOFEST brings together the brightest minds from around the world. This event offers a significant platform for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative projects and solutions to global problems. At the information meeting held in our conference hall, Mr. Ömür Sayılı, representative of Science Nicosia, provided detailed information about the festival and answered participants’ questions. Students and academic staff from the Faculty of Engineering, as well as students from other faculties, participated in the event. Mr. Ömür Sayılı’s impressive presentation generated great excitement among the participants, and many asked questions about participating in the festival. TEKNOFEST’s arrival in Northern Cyprus offers students and academics the opportunity to showcase their creative ideas, innovative projects, and technological advancements on a global platform. This festival not only promotes technological innovation but also strengthens international collaborations and allows local talent to become more visible in the global technology world. Furthermore, Ms. Fatma Nur Aydın, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Cyprus Science University, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Hikmet Aybar, presented a gift to Mr. Ömür Sayılı.

Students at Cyprus Aydın University can view announcements made through our university’s education information portal (EBS). After registration, each student is provided with a student email account with the cau.edu.tr extension, and these email accounts are actively used. In addition, announcements are instantly delivered to students via WhatsApp class groups to reach them quickly through student representatives.
